Job description
The Pet Emergency Clinic and Referral Center in Spokane, Washington is seeking a veterinary neurologist to join our busy and growing emergency and specialty hospital. We are the largest privately held, doctor-owned emergency and specialty practice in the Inland Northwest.
Our emergency medicine department is currently staffed by nine experienced emergency veterinarians and an abundance of fully trained support staff (licensed veterinary technicians, veterinary assistants, kennel attendants, and a full reception core.) The emergency department is open 24/7/365. We work closely with and highly value our referring general practice veterinarians in the community.
Several specialty services are housed in the hospital during daytime hours Monday through Friday and include internal medicine, oncology, emergency & critical care, surgery (Veterinary Surgical Specialists, www.vssspokane.com), and radiology (Inland Empire Veterinary Imaging). There is a part-time dermatologist in our building (Dermatology for Animals, www.dermatologyforanimals.com), and an extension of Washington State University offers veterinary ophthalmologists and a veterinary dentist just a few minutes from our hospital.
The hospital has an in-house diagnostic lab, digital radiography, and ultrasound. Access to specialist ultrasound, CT, and flexible/rigid endoscopy is available on weekdays. We also have an on-site blood bank. Once the right candidate is identified, an MRI will be added to our diagnostic suite.
The Pet Emergency Clinic and Referral Center is located within a recently constructed facility that won the 2017 VetEcon/360 Design Award for Specialty Hospital of the Year.
We are looking for an individual who seeks to provide exceptional quality medicine and to elevate the medicine we provide as a hospital, is motivated to build a neurology practice from the ground up, and who can help to cultivate positive relationships with our referring community. We value work-life balance and a positive work environment.
We are looking for a full-time neurologist.
Applicants must be:
- Residency trained in neurology or board-certified with the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine.
- Applicants must also be willing and able to perform neurosurgery.
- Starting salary is negotiable but considered highly competitive for the region.
We offer full benefits including:
- Dental and health insurance
- Disability and liability coverage
- Professional licensing fees
- CE allowance
- 401K
- Paid vacation and reimbursement for moving expenses
