Overview

Our Slurry Seal Paver Truck Drivers are accountable for making on-time deliveries of product, operating the truck (straight / tractor-semi-trailer / road tractor / slurry) in a safe and cost-effective manner, meeting all legal operation requirements, obeying customer job site policies and are responsive to customer needs. It requires a minimum Class B CDL and company approved driving record. These positions are full-time, seasonal positions with 9+ months of consistent work per year. Overtime can and will be required during peak season (April – November).
  • This job opening does require overnight travel during the week. Highly likely to be working out of the Lynchburg area (from motel rooms) as much as 7 months per year.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Operates truck in cost efficient manner that insures lowest cost per mile. Makes on-time deliveries while meeting legal posted speed limits and weight limits
  • Works closely with the slurry crew supervisor, ensuring truck availability when scheduled. Maintains good communication with other slurry crew members that creates an atmosphere of respect and teamwork
  • Follows all safety procedures to ensure no re-portable accidents/moving violations or abuse of power unit. Complies with all Federal, State and corporate policies. Attends and participates in all scheduled sessions and safety meetings
  • Practices good housekeeping, maintaining the appearance of truck inside and out to a level that creates pride within the organization and a positive image to the customers and on the highways
  • Performs routine fueling, lubrication and servicing
  • Loads and maintains truck according to manufacturer s recommendations
  • Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections and reports any problems to the mechanic, supervisor or designated person to insure proper maintenance of trucks according to manufacturer s recommendations
  • Perform other duties as required, including but not limited to, removing slurry from various pieces of equipment, loading materials onto truck, etc.

Skills & Experience

  • Excellent driving skills - ability to drive defensively; anticipate multiple driving hazards; have knowledge of DOT laws & highway laws.
  • Graduate of a driving school or two years of experience, preferred.
  • Class B CDL, minimum. Additional endorsements may be required depending on the type of truck operated.
  • Class A CDL, Tank Endorsement, Haz-Mat Endorsement (preferred)

Compensation Range:
