Responsibilities:

Our Tax Transformation/Technology team is looking for a Senior Manager! This is a great opportunity to be a valued business advisor delivering industry-focused tax advisory and compliance services to middle market clients. You will work side-by-side with firm leadership in implementing leading edge tax technology solutions and practice processes for tax functions to optimizing data, process, technology and people. What you will do:

  • Be a trusted member of the team providing various consulting services to tax technology specific clients:
    • Be responsible for assessing client tax departments and determining the best areas in need of automation across tax data, process, technology and workforce.
    • Run engagements from the proposal and scoping phase to overseeing design, build, test, and deployment as well as developing training.
    • Design process and technology enabler for tax functions.
    • Ongoing consulting to clients and identifying prospective clients or projects.
    • Lead internal and external level meetings.
    • Draft proposals and business cases.
    • Can work with our internal and external tax technology team.
    • Assist with business development.
    • Other duties required.
  • Manage client engagement staffing, billings/collections, and ensure client profitability targets are met
  • Utilize your entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong relationships internally and externally with the goal of acquiring new clients, projects, and revenue
  • Invest in your professional development individually and through participation in firm wide learning and development programs
  • Support the growth and development of team members through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy, helping associates meet their professional goals

Qualifications:

Successful candidates will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science or Technology, required.
  • CPA, JD, EA, PhD, MBA or MS preferred.
  • Alteryx, RPA or other Analytics software certification preferred such as CISA, CISSP, CFE, CFF, PMP, ACA.
  • Experience with one or multiple software tools: Oracle, Thomas Reuters, ONESOURCE, GoSystems, Power BI, RPA tools, ETL tools & Visualization tools.
  • Eight (8)+ years’ experience with technology or tax systems required.
  • Seven (7)+ years’ of supervisory experience, mentoring and counseling associates
  • Knowledge of a broad range of corporate tax matters and possess both tax and technology skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well remotely with expert project management skills.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated management, analytical, organization, interpersonal, project management, communication skills
  • Ability to lead and supervise others, provide exceptional client service, demonstrate commitment to continuous learning in order to stay current regarding applicable strategies, see the "big picture" as well as the details, display appropriate ethical knowledge and commitment, and exhibit a sense of urgency and commitment to quality and the timely completion of projects
