Nammo Defense Systems Inc., a defense contractor, manufactures and supports shoulder-fired systems; energetic material solutions such as aircraft emergency escape systems, actuation devices, rocket motors, warheads, medium & large caliber ammunitions, mortar ammunition; and composite solutions including carbon fiber tubes and composite aero-structures.

SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Trainer is responsible for the planning, execution, and effectiveness of training in the manufacturing department. This position will require the flexibility to work nights as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

• Maintain a comprehensive departmental training program covering new employee onboarding, company/document training, operator certification, manufacturing work instructions, and software usage.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineers to review and approve manufacturing processes and work instructions.
• Recommend changes to manufacturing processes or work instructions to improve safety, quality, or productivity.
• Review and interpret component and assembly drawings.
• Work in conjunction with management to determine training needs.
• Determine training method such as individual, group, demonstrations, and meetings.
• Prepare and distribute training aids such as instructional material, handouts, evaluation forms, etc.
• Maintain production line efficiency by ensuring process “techniques” are properly documented via video, photographs, or written instructions.
• Establish a training matrix and ensure operators are properly trained/re-trained to applicable SOPs on time.
• Maintain department training records.
• Provide feedback and recommendations to both Lead and Supervisor regarding employee proficiency.
• Monitor and assess the effectiveness of training via written tests, hand’s-on tests, quality results, and labor efficiency results.
• Perform operator duties when required.
• Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• High School or general education diploma (GED)
• 2-4 years of related job skill experience and 0-2 years’ experience training others, developing solutions to problems
• As directed by Executive Order 14042: Ensuring adequate COVID Safety Protocols for Federal Contractors, Nammo Defense Systems will require all new hired employees to provide proof of compliance with the vaccination mandates directed by the Order.
