POSITION SUMMARY
This position assists the building principal in organizing and fostering a positive, safe environment that is conducive to best meeting the needs of all students, staff and families. This includes such responsibilities as: leading, directing, counseling, and supervising a variety of personnel and programs; creating effective family, teacher and student communications; supporting, encouraging, mentoring, and evaluating staff; fostering teamwork among all staff and families; and managing designated budget items.
The Athletic Director provides effective leadership and guidance in the athletic operations of the school. The Athletic Director is responsible for planning, staffing, finances, facilities, community relations, booster clubs, and compliance of the athletic programs at the high school. The Athletic Director will supervise all sports personnel and resolve any administrative issues.
This position may act in the capacity of the principal during the principal’s absence from the school.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must hold Oregon Teaching License with secondary endorsement
- Master's Degree from an accredited college or university
- At least five (5) years of classroom teaching experience
- At least three (3) years of successful coaching experience
- Energetic, driven, and capable of overcoming obstacles
- Strong communication and leadership skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Oregon Administrative License issued by TSPC or ability to obtain within 2 years of start of position
- Athletic Director or head coaching experience
- Directing and supervising the coordination of athletic events and budgets
- Familiarity with athletic policies and procedures with the 509-J School District and communities
- Bilingual Spanish

COMPENSATION
- Salary: Commensurate with licensure, education and experience - An applicant with administrative licensure will be paid on the administrator salary schedule; an applicant without will be paid on the certified salary schedule with additional athletics stipends and added days
