JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Therapist will be responsible for providing services to residents with a primary diagnosis of chemical dependence, providing individual, family or group therapy. The therapist shall cooperate as a team member in the provision of a therapeutic environment that encourages each resident's emotional growth. The position is expected to maintain an acceptable level of productivity as measured by effectiveness and treatment outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications - Completion of a Master's Degree from an accredited college with a degree in counseling psychology, social work, or marriage and family therapy. Interns in the process of completing supervised hours for licensure must have a Board issued Associate number. Licensed Master's level clinicians must have a Board issued license number.

PreferredQualifications-1-2years'experienceworkinginthe mental health field.

General understanding of American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) levels of service and treatment and the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Health Disorders (DSM-V).

Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with all staff, supervisors, utilization review, managed health care clinicians, medical and mental health professionals.

Abilitytopositivelyinteractanddeveloprapportwithresidentsand their families.

Ability to learn and utilize the organization's Electronic Health Records system.

PossessvalidLicense,Certification,orRegistration.

PossesscurrentFirstAidandCPRcertification.

RESPONS IBILITIES:

1. Upholdandenforcetheagency'sstandards,policiesand procedures, resident rights, and professional code of ethics and conduct.

Identify and prioritize individual needs and problems.

Prepare comprehensive Interpretive Summaries per JointCommission standards.

4. Developperson-centeredcareplans,includingprioritizedproblem lists, SNAP, resident-reported goals, measurable and achievable objectives, and interventions.

5. ProvideindividualandgrouptherapysessionsutilizingEvidence Based Practices.

Provide family therapy services (if needed).

Document resident progress toward treatment plan goals andobjectives in therapist & treatment plan status goals.

8. Prepareclinicaldocumentationaccuratelyandwithinagencytime

frames.
9. Gain an effective understanding and use of Electronic Health

Records.

10.Intervene during crisis intervention situations.

11. Cooperate with health insurance clinical utilization reviews.

12. Participate in treatment team meetings with other team members as needed.

13. Participate in the agency's Orientation training, staff meetings, and in-service training.

14.Participate in the agency's Quality Management system.

15. Provide accurate assessment and referral when appropriate.

16. Provide appropriate treatment interventions relative to the specific needs of each resident.

17.Adhere to code of ethics, legal aspects of clinical practice, professional standards, duty to warn, abuse and neglect reporting policies and procedures, and exercise professionalism at all times.

18.Exercise awareness in cultural competency, resident satisfaction, quality of services, resident needs, and overall healthand safety of staff and residents.

19. Additional duties may be required if deemed necessary by administration.
