HII Mission Technologies is currently seeking a Test Engineer in support of the APLES United States Coast Guard contract. #LI-MJ1

What you will do

  • Perform formal system testing activities for a particular project or subset of a larger project under supervision of more experienced test personnel.
  • Communicate with business analysts, developers, project managers and other test personnel to perform analysis of documented user requirements and assist in the design of test plans in support of user requirements for moderately complex to complex software or IT systems.
  • May participate in all phases of risk management assessment and software/hardware development.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the test design and documentation support all applicable clients, agency or industry standards time lines and budgets.
  • Responsible for ensuring that testing conclusions and recommendations are fully supported by test results, and project managers are fully informed of testing status and application deviations from documented user requirements.
  • Work with the team to synthesize customer and contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledges technical, schedule and cost constraints.
  • Prepare and execute comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for completing systems.
  • Work independently and able to work with the team to coordinate integrated testing activities.
  • Performs technical analysis of complete systems and prepares comprehensive system level evaluations.
  • Perform manual functional, system, regression, end-to-end, and integration testing.
  • Ensure coverage of the software requirements through traceability.
  • Accurately and clearly document system defects.
  • Familiar with the use of agile methodologies and best practices for software testing.

What you must have

  • Bachelor's degree in Science or equivalent with 2-3 years of testing experience
  • Experience with Agile and iterative project life cycles
  • Experience writing Test Plans, Test Design Descriptions, Test Reports, and Deficiency Reports
  • Experience with agile project and testing tools
  • Skill and comfort with written and oral communication
  • US citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust
  • Experience with UI/UX, API, QA, regression, functional and non-functional testing

Preferred: bonus points for...

  • Previous government contracting experience is a plus
  • Experience in white box testing
  • Experience with test automation frameworks and tools
  • Experience balancing multiple responsibilties and responding to multiple sources
  • Experience working with databases
