Job Description:
The State University of New York at Oswego invites applications to fill future full and part time Temporary Clerical Support positions as they become available.
Review Date: SUNY Oswego is accepting applications as a continuous recruitment effort for the Temporary Clerical Support position. If/when vacancies occur, applications will be reviewed. Hours and shifts vary based on operational needs. You will only be contacted as needed for interviews.
Salary: In accordance with the CSEA Administrative Services Unit Agreement. Positions last no longer than 3 months and are not benefits eligible.
Description of Responsibilities:
- Answers phone calls in a professional manner and assist callers.
- Enter data into various software programs.
- Maintain files and documentation: proofread, review and correct correspondence, documents, records and other written material.
- Receive and distribute mail.
- Maintain office machines and equipment.
- Schedule appointments, meetings, and training.
- Maintain staff calendars.
- Perform routine office activities.
Requirements:
Job Requirements:
- Knowledge of office and secretarial practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of proper and grammatical usage, punctuation and spelling.
- Ability to use modern office equipment.
- Ability to determine priorities.
Minimum Qualifications:
One year of satisfactory secretarial experience.
OR
Satisfactory completion of a one year course in secretarial Science from a business school registered with the NYS Education Department, a New York State Community College, or technical institute recognized by the New York State Education Department as following acceptable practices;
OR
A satisfactory combination of 1 and 2 above.
