Preble Street’s Teen Services programs work together to offer access to casework, shelter, housing, food, and other essential services 24/7, 365 days a year to youth experiencing homelessness. A Supervisor position is currently available to work a first-shift schedule at the Teen Center, as part of the dynamic Teen Services team meeting the needs of vulnerable youth and providing a warm, safe space with access to meals, basic necessities, and support in a low-barrier setting.

With responsibility for program and team management as well as provision of direct services to youth, the Supervisor leads the Teen Center team of direct-service caseworkers; provides program coverage and ensures safety in the program spaces; engages in casework and outreach activities; builds relationships with clients and community partners; provides crisis intervention and support to youth; provides guidance and oversight to staff in program and case management documentation; and supports all aspects of programming.
The schedule for this position is Tuesday-Saturday, 7:30am-4:00pm.
Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in social work or related field; experience relevant to working with youth experiencing homelessness; and supervisory experience; or comparable combination of education and relevant experience is required.
Additional qualifications for this position include strong skills in effective communications, problem-solving, working collaboratively with a team, crisis intervention, setting and maintaining boundaries and limits in challenging situations with youth. Candidates should also understand traumatic reactions, mental illness, substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders, and have experience in leadership, casework, and working with youth experiencing homelessness. A commitment to the Preble Street mission is essential.
Eligibility for employment with Teen Services also requires that staff be at least 21 years of age; undergo and pass a physical examination, which includes a test for TB; hold certification or become certified in First Aid and CPR (training opportunities offered); provide proof of education (diploma or transcript); and have acceptable background check results, including motor vehicle record checks. Teen Services staff also must attend recurrent, regularly scheduled trainings, which are provided on-site. Reliable transportation is required for this position.
Compensation and Benefits
This position offers competitive pay at a rate of $25.47 per hour, which annualizes to $52,977 and generous paid time off, insurance, and retirement plan benefits, including:

  • 160 hours vacation time, 96 hours sick time, 16 hours personal time (accrued), 12 Paid Holidays
