WONGDOODY has an immediate opening for a SVP, People to lead our North America People Operations and Talent Acquisition teams with a responsibility to shape our Human Resources function from the ground up. As a member of our executive team, the SVP, People will be a strategic partner to agency leaders and guide our organization through a period of massive growth. This is an exciting opportunity to reimagine programs and processes to support and cultivate our people. The SVP, People will serve in a critical leadership capacity with the responsibility of building processes and refining structure, and championing culture in order to position the agency for continued success.
Our ideal candidate is a passionate and proven HR Executive with a broad understanding of the many facets of HR from Employee Relations, DEI and Succession Planning to Employer Branding, Workforce Planning and Recruitment. Someone who has built & scaled high-performing organizations and influenced best practices at a global level.
They will have experience partnering with senior stakeholders in a fast-paced environment, navigating holding company relationships/structure, to develop human resource strategies and programs all in support of our top priority, our people.
While we celebrate a hybrid work environment, our ideal candidate will be located near our studio locations of Seattle, Los Angeles and New York City.
What you'll do:
Lead People Ops + Talent Acquisition teams for North America providing leadership across all areas of Human Resources.
- Lead, inspire and cultivate an inclusive and high-performing People team that celebrates each team member, encourages innovation and shares best practices
- Coach, support and develop agency leadership
- Develop strategic business drivers, organizational vision, and key operating effectiveness for delivering critical, integrated talent strategies
- Lead strategic HR initiatives
- Partner with all functions of the agency for strategic workforce planning and employee mobility, in support of our business strategy and operational objectives
- Navigate M&A caring for due diligence and integration
- Create and implement systems for ongoing and consistent feedback among staff, peers, managers, and teams
- Oversee bi-annual review process to ensure equitable staff recognition across the organization
- Oversee Org Design gap analysis and associated planning
- Oversee Learning and Development programming; Build and maintain a collection of vendors, academic partnerships, SMEs, and online tools to deliver innovative learning sessions
- Create and execute upskilling initiatives to foster opportunities for employee growth and maximize employee retention
- Oversee annual managerial training programs to help new team leaders succeed in their roles.
- Implement Succession Planning Strategies
- Serve as executive sponsor of DEIB and work in close collaboration with established DEI committee to build out the next phase of our journey including additional ERGs, designing toolkits/resources, organizational metrics, and tracking strategies
- Serve as primary contact for parent company compliance, audit, integration, and facilitation
- Manage total rewards structure including annual compensation surveys, benefits administration
- Responsibility for Employee Lifecycle (onboarding, performance management, offboarding, employee relations, offboarding) ensuring each touchpoint enhances our culture and upholds WD values
- Champion work-life balance and well-being opportunities
- Partner with all levels from entry-level to senior leadership to resolve HR-related issues and escalations – coaching leaders and advocating for contributors
- Employee Recognition
- Design meaningful employee engagement programs that cultivate productive, elated, and motivated employees keen to contribute to greater agency culture
- Provide thought leadership for the agency and guidance for the ELT and other senior staff to ensure continued success
- Draft, implement and maintain organizational policies/procedures related to People Operations supporting employee rights
- Oversee benefits and open enrollment.
- Partner with Finance, IT and Talent Acquisition to identify and implement internal workflow initiatives that create smooth running and clear communications across the agency
- Oversee management of employee files, HRIS database and recordkeeping

What you've got:
- Proven HR leader with a minimum of 15+ years of progressive experience, ideally with 5+ years leading all facets of Human Resources within a holding company and/or subsidiary model
- Experience navigating acquisitions and connectivity with global stakeholders - highly preferred
- Experience defining a vision and leading change management efforts across a growing organization
- Deep knowledge of HR practices and procedures and broad knowledge of the various functional areas within a people organization
- Demonstrated success in building and implementing HR policy and programs for a dynamic high-growth organization
- A proven track record of innovation and leadership within people operations
- Aptitude for continuous improvement mentality with the agility to shift priorities as the needs of the business evolve
- Hands-on experience using a variety of HR tools including HRIS, performance, and ATS systems
- Knowledge of Domestic PEO and Global EOR partner relationships, nice to have
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to distill complex information for various audience
- A propensity for collaboration with all levels of the organization including senior leadership
- Highly developed possess conflict management and resolution skills
- PHR, SPHR or SHRM-CP / SCP certification is a plus
- Skilled in use of Word, PowerPoint and Excel, preferably on a Mac
