Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Surgery RN to join our team Part-Time. The Surgery RN will be responsible for providing direct patient care in the surgical setting, working closely with the surgical team to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of care. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care, excellent communication skills, and be able to work well under pressure. This position would require working 2-3 days a week from 7:00am-3:00pm (flexible certain days).
Responsibilities:
- Assess and monitor patients before, during, and after surgery
- Administer medications and anesthesia under the direction of the anesthesiologist
- Assist the surgeon during surgical procedures, anticipating and responding to the needs of the surgical team
- Monitor and interpret patient vital signs, alerting the surgeon or anesthesiologist of any changes
- Document patient care and interventions accurately and timely
- Provide education and support to patients and families throughout the surgical process
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
- Ensure that all necessary equipment and supplies are available and in working order
- Maintain a sterile surgical environment and follow infection control procedures
- Adhere to all hospital policies and protocols
