AAM is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to develop, implement, and manage supply chain processes and solutions within AAM's Ridgway Metal Forming facility. The SCM will establish key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to supply chain planning and forecasting; monitor planned vs. actual performance; and present results to senior management.

Proven experience leading, and mentoring a continuous improvement mindset within automotive manufacturing facilities Materials and SCM teams is critical for success in this position; along with expert communication and experience collaborating with plant operations, sales, procurement, finance, and other departments to offer supply chain support, troubleshooting and problem resolution.

The ideal candidate strives to determine critical business capabilities and drive continuous improvement efforts to current supply chain processes, as well as:

  • Achieves Supply Chain Management operational objectives by contributing materials management information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews including: preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining materials management system improvements; and implementing change.
  • Supports the standardization and continuous improvement of business processes for the implementation of global supply chain systems.
  • Develops and maintains effective SMEs/Key Users (including back-ups and polyvalence to develop full deck of capable key users) with forum for regular interaction in key user groups.
  • Supports the development of new process technology for continuous improvement of AAM materials management / SCM systems
  • Acts as the key support contact to drive problem resolution
  • Assists plants in root cause assessment for all audit non compliances, develops corrective action plans and monitors action registers/PDCAS to drive closure.
  • Maintains ‘current state’ and ‘future state’ process flows for all core and sub-core SCM processes including the material and information flow.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

  • Successful Completion of Bachelor’s Degree program from an accredited university.
  • 3+ years experience leading supply chain teams
  • Proven track record in automotive factory material management setting.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills

  • Supplier Negotiation Experience
  • Budgeting / Forecasting Experience
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Process Development
