Shoreline Fruit is the largest tart cherry producer in North America operating nearly 7000 acres of cherry orchards right here in Michigan, growing and processing over 40 million pounds of cherries each year. Working at our production facility, you will be joining the team that processes the finest cherry products and other dried fruits available anywhere in the world. We have a current opening for a Cell Leader who engages and empowers the team to be responsible for the safety, quality, reliability/stability, and cost of their area, processes, equipment, and ultimately themselves in the production of our quality wholesome fruit products for the world to enjoy.

Day and Night Shifts: 6:45am to 7pm, or 6:45pm to 7am working in a 4-days on, 4-days off rotation (4 day vacation every week!)

Team Leader Primary Responsibilities:

  • Participate in daily pass down at the beginning and ending of the Shift with the Production Manager and the prior/on-coming shift Cell Leaders to receive and communicate information pertaining to production, personnel, training, events or other relevant items.
  • Conduct a daily huddle with your Team Members at the beginning of the shift to review work assignments, review expectations for the upcoming shift, discuss issues or concerns, pass on other pertinent information and cover a daily safety or quality topic.
  • Assure your production area is set at the beginning of the shift with all necessary materials and tools for the team to enjoy production success, and ensure the production area is adequately stocked throughout the day keeping your equipment, cabinet items (scales, label guns, tape guns, clip boards, etc.) neat and organized.
  • Ensure prompt start time at the beginning of shifts, breaks and lunches.
  • Direct, coach, and coordinate the activities of Team Members and maintain consistent product feed rates and equipment/process adjustments to ensure that established production rates, yields, quality standards, safety standards and product specifications are met.
  • Maintain an organized and sanitary work area for your Team Members including: tables and work surfaces, racks, signs, floors, doors, windows, equipment surfaces, etc.
  • Problem solve and utilize proper resources to provide solutions to issues that arise.
  • Monitor your production area to ensure that all company policies and Safety, Quality and Sanitation policies and guidelines are being observed by your Team and others in your area.
  • Complete all required production data and necessary forms in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Work with the Production Audit Coordinator, Production Managers, and Team Members to review and resolve production tracking, reporting, and other paperwork issues in an efficient and timely manner.

Minimum Position Requirements:

  • Passion for helping others succeed.
  • Clear communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not required if appropriate skills are possessed.
  • Some computer skills working with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams), and the ability/desire to learn.
  • Job requires being on your feet most of the shift.
