We are looking for a Summer Camp Instructor for summer 2023 (to start May 30 or June 5)

Imagine taking daily field trips around the Bay Area to all of your favorite places. Our summer Instructors get the opportunity to explore and learn right along side the kids. Whether it's an exciting week of learning science at places like the Exploratorium and Bay Aquarium, or a week of art visiting places like the De Young and the SF MOMA. At UAC we pride ourselves on having a good time every day. We give our campers a great experience that is not only educational, but also captivating and fun. While leading groups you will explore the Bay Area and teach campers through exciting, educational experiences.

UAC is a summer day camp that takes groups of children on daily field trips using public transportation. Weeks are subject specific (history, art, science, cooking, and active). Campers range in age from 8-15 and group size is set at a maximum of 15 students. Instructors are group leaders with counselors as their assistants.

Requirements: Requires a passion for teaching and working with children. Must be a positive, energetic, and organized team member/leader. Must have classroom teaching experience. Must have multiple experiences of lead teaching of youth (those that do not have the necessary experience should apply for our counselor position). To receive highest pay, instructors must have experience as a lead teacher in the classroom or currently working towards a valid teaching credential in the US and have background knowledge of the subject(s) that you are interested in teaching. Must have valid authorization to work within the US. We are looking for responsible applicants with a willingness to learn, be a part of an awesome team, who will work hard, but who also know how to have a great time! Note: We require a minimum of 3 weeks of work this summer and we are willing to work with teacher's summer schedules and to schedule around trips or other plans.
