Job Description
HCC is seeking qualified instructors for our Summer Youth Camps. Camp season begins on June 26, 2023 and continues through August 19, 2023. Camp descriptions can be found online at https://www.harford.edu/academics/community-ed-programs/youth/camp-curiosity.php .
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, planning and implementing camp curriculum; coordinating daily operations and safety procedures of camp; maintaining supply inventory; communicating effectively with campers, camp staff and parents/guardians; and performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Available Camp Weeks:
Week 6: July 31-August 4: School of Wizardry
Week 7: August 7-August 11: Food Lab, Mario Kart, and Olympic Games
Week 8: August 14-August 18: Science Lab, Animal Lovers, Spies & Detectives
Instructors are required to attend employee training, to be scheduled the week of June 12, 2023. Instructors are not required to be available for all camp weeks.
Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia.

Required Education
Bachelor’s degree or certification in the appropriate field.
Required Experience
One year of teaching, childcare, camp, or coaching experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Ability to successfully pass an FBI, MD, and CJIS background screening.
Preferred Qualifications
One year of summer camp experience.
General Weekly Work Schedule
Half-day camp operating hours are 8:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., Monday to Friday.
