Summer Camp Teacher

Early Beginnings Summer Camp Program

We are looking for individuals that enjoy working with school age children, grades kindergarten through Middle School. Our teachers are responsible for planning/implementing activities for the children in their class every day and following the daily/weekly schedule. Activities will enhance each child’s experience while providing a safe and engaging environment that enriches each child’s day.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement daily activities in accordance to the weekly schedule and specials.
• Management with developmental considerations in mind for an environment that is safe, engaging, interactive and developmentally appropriate
• Oversee the safety of all children during transition times and throughout the afternoon.
• Assist with daily snacks and communication with caregivers.
• Provide a classroom environment that encourages children to explore, create, develop relationships for all.
• Attend staff meetings and be punctual.
• Maintain professional conduct with students, care givers, staff and vendors at all times.
• Encourage and facilitate problem solving, interaction and peer relations.
• Adhere to all Early Beginnings and Jackson Day School codes of conduct, ethical behaviors and professional development.

Desired Skills and Experiences:

• Be able to lift up to 35 lbs., stand for long periods of time, be able to sit on the floor and get up from the floor with ease.
• Previous classroom/teaching experience of 1 to 2 years.
• Current CPR / First Aid Training Preferred
• NC State School-Age Care Credential or School Age Care SWCDC

Compensation:

• Possible future employment in the Early Beginnings Before and After School program that operates during the school year (September to May, from 3:00pm to 6:00pm).

Schedule: Summer Camp operates from 7:00am to 6:30pm. There are two shifts of eight hours during that time period. Camp starts on May 30th and ends August 11th.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $10.00 - $15.00 per hour
