Job Goal: Work with high-school students involved in FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition (FRC) Program: stressing safety, providing a good educational experience, teaching gracious professionalism, encouraging maximum participation, and striving for excellence. This is a year around position but majority of the responsibilities listed below will take place during the FRC build season from January through April. In addition, this position will work with the Oshkosh Wave Robotics Board of Directors to promote FIRST in Oshkosh Area and recruit students to the program over the entire calendar year. Qualifications:  Valid Wisconsin Teacher’s Certification  Knowledge and experience of FRC  Interest in working with students to promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) initiatives.  Strong interpersonal communication skills  Organized and detail oriented Position Responsibilities:  Maintain school district rules and Oshkosh Wave Robotics policies.  Be familiar with all rules, procedures, and requirements of FRC  Attend Oshkosh Wave Robotics Board Meetings  Facilitate weekly team meetings and mentor meetings.  Attend open houses and events that promote FLL and FRC  Instruct, supervise and organize students participating in FRC o Coach/facilitate students’ and mentors’ concerns and issues to ensure positive, safe and productive team, this may include behavioral or social emotional challenges o Follow procedures spelled out concerning building security and safety of athletes o Communicate with school district, students, mentors, and parents regarding academic team issues and needs o Monitor grades per Athletic directors of students participating and alert the team mentors if a student does not meet academic requirements o Monitor students’ behavior based on school’s code of conduct and alert the team mentors if a student needs disciplinary actions o Act as an advocate for students well-being, this includes setting reasonable work time limits to ensure proper time for school and family o Monitor and talk with mentors about students’ engagement  Work with the Oshkosh Wave Robotics Board of Directors in formulating schedules for the upcoming season o Attend Kick-offs and regional and championship competitions that the team attends.  Coordinate Kick-Off and Build Season Activities: o Work with Lead Technical Mentor to coordinate Kick-offs, strategy sessions and build season for each year o Make necessary facility reservations with the Oshkosh Recreation Department. o Provide Mentor Training at Kick-off  Manage Team Travel to Competitions and Events throughout the year. o Ensure parents, students and mentors register on the FIRST dashboard, Print rosters for travel o Arrange for transportation and supervision of students at competitions and other team events o Coordinate permission between parents and schools to travel to team functions o File travel forms and inform attendance office, provide forms for parents/students for travel  Reconcile credit card purchases by submitting electronic receipts through the district’s financial tracking system on a monthly basis  Perform other duties as determined by the Oshkosh Wave Robotics Board of Directors within parameters of the Board of Education policies, state statutes, administrative rules, and FRC requirements
