STEM, Network Instructional Coach


Summary

STEM Network Instructional Coach reports directly to the Managing Director of Schools and supports teachers in all facets of professional development across a variety of academic areas, including curriculum creation, classroom management, instructional practices, and evaluation of student achievement. Being a part of the Kairos leadership team is an ideal position for an educator who possesses the necessary knowledge, skills, and mindsets that will allow our scholars to achieve off-the-chart results. The ideal candidate is especially committed to serving low SES and minority scholars; is self-reflective, data-driven, results-oriented, mission-focused, open to and actively seeks constructive feedback, and is tenacious about scholar college & career readiness. Kairos educators have a deep passion for instruction and are eager to gain rigorous development to help perfect their craft. In addition to participating in weekly professional development and team planning meetings, all Kairos educators receive consistent high-impact coaching and feedback from the network & academy leaders. Key responsibilities:

  • Observing classroom instruction of all teachers with a variety of experience and provide developmentally appropriate coaching via written and oral feedback
  • Assisting teachers in collecting and analyzing student performance data to drive instructional decisions
  • Differentiating support for teachers based upon their needs at the middle and high school
  • Providing lesson planning support to teachers at the middle and high school
  • Arranging opportunities for teachers to co-observe master teachers
  • Planning and delivering focus lessons in teachers’ classrooms to model effective practices
  • Communicating regularly and engaging in collaboration with campus instructional leaders and content leaders to align feedback and support for teachers
  • Facilitating professional learning sessions during the summer and throughout the school year
  • Working collaboratively with campus leadership to develop targeted growth plans for developing teachers
  • Tracking teacher development and observations efficiently
  • Additional duties as assigned

Technology Skills

Competence in Microsoft Office applications and ability to use a variety of computer applications and platforms. Ability to use basic office equipment. Knowledge and experience in using a computer-based student Information Management system.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master's degree preferred
  • Missouri Substitute Certification Required
  • 3+ years of successful full-time teaching experience preferred
  • At least two years of successful full-time instructional leadership experience (assistant principal, instructional coach, dean, etc.) preferred
  • Proven track record of personally achieving success and of leading others to improved results
  • Satisfactory completion of criminal records check, pre-hire and annually thereafter, if applicable.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States and provide work authorization.

Starting Salary: $60,000 annually, based on experience

  • Monday through Friday 7:45am- 4:00pm
    • Some weekends and evenings will be required
