Amsted Automotive Group – BN Geneva Piston Pin Operation has a need for a Sr. Quality Engineer responsible for development of the quality planning that will support the quality objectives, financial metrics, KPI’s, and support Engineering, Production and Operations. The Sr. QE work is predominantly the development and establishment of quality system; analysis of manufacturing process quality, the application of the quality plan and process improvement as well as direct oversight of the overall process including process and product monitoring and testing.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Develop, apply and maintain quality requirements and standards.
  • Support concurrent engineering efforts by participating in process design development projects representing the quality function including creation and ownership of Control Plans, PFMEAs and supporting processes including PPAP, APQP, and MSA.
  • Design and implement methods for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection.
  • Promote and execute quality goals, standards, inspection processes, test methodology, quality plans and lead my example.
  • Assist in customer quality certifications (ISO, IATF, etc.); report to management on quality issues, trends and losses; participate in internal and external quality audits.
  • Interface with supplier and customer quality representatives concerning problems with quality assurance and implement effective and appropriate corrective actions.
  • Develop and deliver training material on quality standards and activities.
  • Lead continuous Improvement team(s) and other activities to determine actions to upgrade or improve the quality system and reduce the cost of quality.
  • Evaluate supplier performance, coordinate approval of initial samples provided by suppliers and establish and monitor systems for recording and reporting supplier conformance to quality
  • Lead and implement internal corrective actions to eliminate product and system nonconformities.
  • Visit customers and suppliers to deal with concerns, audits, and process and product validations, with the goal of developing collaboration based relationships.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Excellent computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office and Minitab
  • Effective written and verbal communications at all levels of the organization
  • Documentation control experience including preparation of procedures and work instructions
  • Understanding of calibration of inspection equipment for effective monitoring.
  • Statistical Process Control (Control charts, Gage R&R, Capability Data)
  • IATF 16949 (ISO 9001) and ISO 14001 knowledge including experience with Core Tools
  • Proven results in ongoing Continual Improvement
  • Demonstrated familiarity with Product Launch (APQP)
  • Experience using Discipline Problem solving Methods and Root Cause Analysis such as DMAIC, 8D, 5-Why, Kepner Tregoe and DOE
  • Six Sigma/Black Belt preferred
  • Practical experience using GD&T
  • Familiarity with Gage design and calibration methods
  • Experience managing customer relationships and resolution of issues.
  • Understanding of financial data, budget management, and standard cost analysis
  • Experience in Manufacturing Operations is desired.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
