JOB SUMMARY

Manage all aspects of transportation and warehousing for Functional Forms Americas

Drive improvements and costs associated with transportation costs to our customers while meeting

service needs

Drive process improvements in flow of information that improves the accuracy of information provided

to customers regarding deliveries

Trouble shoot issues and improve transportation issues

Drive root cause and corrective action on logistics claims

Manage external warehouse operations and processes including storage, repacking, sawing, grinding

and melt filtering.

Improve warehouse processes to meet Functional Forms business needs


How You Can Be the Impact

  • Responsible for a $5 Million transportation and $3 Million warehouse budget
  • Leads efforts in developing annual transportation budget, and determining and setting asset

requirements (railcar fleet sizing and profile, storage, etc.) supporting transportation

  • Understands daily operations of Truckload and Less than truckload shipments and how it

relates to cost per pound. Own resolution of issues affecting cost per pound and service metrics

  • Develop and maintain cost estimates, forecasts, and cost models. Determine cost per pound

estimates and trends against operating budget and own cost per pound metrics to stay within

budget. Identify and resolve cost variance drivers. Facilitate monthly transportation operating

review meetings to review quarterly metrics

  • Analyzes and adjusts weekly freight payment data for accuracy and potential productivity

projects. Work with vendor and carriers in addressing carrier billing issues that affect cost per

pound metrics

  • Identifies, owns and supports transportation and warehousing cost out productivity projects

through implementation, dashboards, and corresponding metrics

  • Performs data management through a combination of data mining, data analysis, cost / benefit

analysis and / or problem analysis; while owning and executing day-to-day operational tasks

related to area of responsibility

  • Understands and track inflation / deflation for each mode of responsibility on a monthly basis
  • Assists 3PL Procurement personnel, if necessary with freight negotiation process
  • Provides technical expertise in transportation issues including Rail, Truckload and Bulk Truck

provider capability, and capabilities at manufacturing sites


What Matters to SABIC

  • BS / BA Degree
  • Minimum 3-5 years of Logistics, Supply Chain or Operations experience
  • Previous logistics experience with knowledge of Procurement, Carrier Operations, and Cost

Management (preferred qualification)

  • Six Sigma trained / experience (preferred qualification)
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Possess a strategic mindset
  • Excellent interpersonal / communication skills
  • Demonstrated project management experience and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Team player
  • Ability to work across multiple functional groups and at various levels
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office, Excel, Access
  • Data oriented with experience analyzing large data sets using Excel and other data querying

tools
