MercyOne Central Iowa operates four not-for-profit, Catholic medical centers in Des Moines, West Des Moines, Newton, and Centerville and two specialty hospitals.

• MercyOne Children’s Hospital in Des Moines and MercyOne Rehabilitation Hospital in Clive (965 beds total)

• Along with more than 20 additional facilities that house more than 50 primary care, pediatric, internal medicine, and specialty clinics.

Essential Functions:

• **$10,000 Sign on Bonus with potential relocation assistance**

• Performs evaluations and treatments to a diverse population in a variety of settings and completes supporting documentation according to hospital policy (based on assignment).

• Appropriately establishes and reviews: plan of care; goals and priorities with team (including patient/family); treatment in response to changing patient needs; educational needs of patient/caregivers; discharge plan/follow-up care needs.

• Complies with department, hospital, and regulatory agency guidelines with respect to ethics, legal issues and supervisory relationships. Demonstrates professional accountability per Speech – Language Pathology Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.

• Demonstrates appropriate and effective written, verbal, and non-verbal communication with team members through the continuum of care.

• Protects patient confidentiality in regard to medical, emotional, and social status.

• Advocates for the profession through memberships, affiliations, continuing education, community service and legislative support.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology

• Current Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA or obtain within one year of hire

• Licensed or eligible for licensure in Iowa

• Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire. Certifications must be obtained through the American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.

• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three (3) months of hire.
