Special Events Manager

We are looking for an outgoing, detail oriented, Special Events Manager to join our team. Under the supervision of the Senior Events Manager, the Special Events Manager is responsible for sales and overseeing of all types of day-to-day operations at Cog Hill. There is a strong focus on the food & beverage service, specific to banquets and golf outings. The Special Events Manager is also responsible for the supervision of assigned events’ employees both inside and outside the Clubhouse and conducts all closing procedures and handling of monies. The special events manager position requires an individual that is outgoing, friendly, and has strong customer service skills. The special events team works closely together, so the ideal candidate can work together as a team, but is also a self-starter and will take initiative on projects and day-to-day operations.

Duties/Responsibilities & Requirements:

• Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients and employees.
• Book, plan and execute any and all types of events held at the golf course.
• Effectively communicate with clients and staff to ensure all needs are met.
• Coordinate and manage staff responsible for all event activities.
• Manages employees outside of the Events Department on a day-to-day basis.
• Works with all outside vendors to ensure an event goes smoothly.
• Day to day front desk responsibilities including answering telephones, emails, booking tee times, and ensuring excellent customer service.
• Available to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Carries out the mission statement for the golf and banquet operations.
• Within Company guidelines, handles guest complaints, disputes and concerns with diplomacy and respect to the complete satisfaction of the guest.

Education/Experience:

• Must be over the age of 21.
• 2-3 years’ experience in events management and the golf industry is preferred.
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree
• Basset Certification (Upon hiring)
• Safe Food Handling Certification (within 30 days of hire)
• Server’s License (within 30 days of hire)

Working Conditions/Physical Demand:

• Working on your feet for many hours of the day.
• Works in varying weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, and or snow).
• Small shared office space.
• Ability to lift at least 25lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
