Under the direction of the Logistics and Customer Relations Manager the System Technician provides internal customer service for our telematics systems. Excellent communication skills are essential. The position requires you to be able to “think outside the box” on a regular basis. You must be flexible and reformat or re-plan your daily schedule if necessary. This position requires critical thinking and strong analytical skills as well as resiliency to be successful. All duties are subject to change or be added to at your manager’s discretion.
Job Description:
- Be the point of contact for all aspects of the telematics platform
- Perform maintenance on software and hardware in our mixers
- Provide support to office and field personnel
- Maintain and control hardware inventories
- Manage licensing to ensure accuracy
- Provide training to end users
- Traveling to all plants. Metro and Northern Arizona
Requirements
- Reporting to district office
- Ability to positively receive coaching and direction from others on what is best for the business
- Must have strong computer, phone, verbal and customer service skills
- Have excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient at using Command Dispatch software and Digital Fleet GPS telematics software
- Experience in the ready-mix concrete industry, with a strong understanding of telematics software.
- Ability to work extended hours in a high stress environment and handle multiple conflicting demands
(Typical shift is 10am-6pm)
- You must be dependable & flexible with regards to your schedule.
- 90% of your time is out in the field working on mixer trucks
- Good attention to detail
- Must learn to coordinate with maintenance, plant managers and operators as to when a truck or system can be worked on
- Ability to communicate clearly with dispatchers and truck drivers
- Proficient in using and reading a map as well as utilizing online mapping tools
- Have knowledge of tablet and phone systems to setup mobile applications
- Manage employee files within the system
- Manage telematics devices for the leaser fleet
- Fill out detailed certifications for hardware replacement and installs on equipment
- Utilize fleet health reports to track down issues.
- Attend early morning safety meetings at plants to conduct driver training

- Must be a TEAM player
- Must have a customer service mentality in dealing with Internal customers
- Use good verbal communication skills and telephone techniques internally and externally
- Must have analytical and decision-making abilities
- Prefer experience in analytical ready-mix distribution or in the industry
- Must be a self-starter
- Willing to learn all aspects of telematics and how it supports our business
- Ability to create detailed training documents for end users, drivers and leasers.
- Coordinate with Dispatch and Human Resources to setup new employees in the system
- Ability to work with outside vendors to solve issues
