E.H. Wachs, an ITW company, currently has an opening for a Software Engineer at its Lincolnshire, IL facility. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Software Engineer will be a key driver of our software, delivering differentiated advantages. This includes simple PC to equipment connectivity, embedded controls, and data analysis tools. This role requires a highly motivated individual willing to be the key contributor for new software development. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial attitude, willingness to learn, and collaborate with a market focused engineering team.

Essential Job Functions:

• Design and develop software products for personal computer and handheld devices using .NET and embedded system controls.
• Guide new software development initiatives and identify new technologies for implementation.
• Produce detailed functional specifications for assigned development projects.
• Analyze and record test data on product performance.
• Test and verify software to meet specifications and requirements.
• Provide technical support for Vitals software to internal and external customers.
• Additional duties and tasks as assigned.

• Bachelor’s Degree in computer engineering/computer science or related field and prior relevant experience
• Proficiency in C/C++ and MS Office Suite
• Familiarity with serial network communications like UART/RS-232 and CAN
• Familiarity with Bluetooth; Bluetooth Low Energy and Custom GATT profiles
• Experience using resource constrained 8-bit microcontrollers
• Knowledge of databases (SQL, SQLite, etc.)
• Professional software development experience and oversite of developers preferred
• Mobile development experience with iOS or Android-valued but not required
