Tennessee Awnings is looking for a motivated individual to join our team as an awning fabricator! NO PRIOR AWNING EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED! Our ideal candidate is a skilled worker who is excited to learn a new trade and to work as part of a cohesive team. This position will involve a variety of fabrication work from welding frames to upholstering fabric awnings to sheet metal fabrication to field work.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Fabricate awning/canopy frames and other finished goods
Sheet metal fabrication including standing-seam metal roofing
Use mathematics to determine length and angles of frame members
Cutting/measuring awning fabrics
Upholstering frames with a variety of fabrics
Follow blueprints to meet product specifications
Occasionally drive company truck as needed
Required Skills and Abilities:
Familiarity with shop tools and working in a shop environment
Ability to handle physical workload (lift 75 lbs unassisted)
Ability to work independently
Strong math and problem-solving skills
Good verbal communication skills
High school diploma
