The Grill at St. Mark is the main restaurant of the property. You will be responsible for the overall cleanliness and organization of the dining areas, which includes removing any dirty glassware, silverware, and plates from guest tables. You will also need to clean and reset the tables to conform with restaurant SOPs by resetting plates, glasses, and any utensils. You must be able to assist the servers in providing exceptional customer service and when possible, upsell our offerings during the guests' dining experience.
THE DUTIES OF A SERVER ASSISTANT INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING:

• Greet guests with a warm welcome and a fond farewell; engage them in a friendly, courteous and professional manner.
• Provide exceptional guest hospitality and service to ensure guests enjoy their experience.
• Responsible for maintaining the dining area; pre-bussing and bussing all tables, keeping dining rooms clean and orderly.
• Assist the servers with clearing and resetting tables while maintaining very high sanitation standards.
• Fill water glasses, polish silver and glassware, and run food to tables.
• Good knowledge of the menu, able to answer guest questions and provide recommendations.
• When possible, address and resolve any guest complaints; notify management ASAP about any unresolved guest complaints that they need to handle.
• Always maintain a composed and professional attitude.
• Become familiar with all returning guests and know their special requests.
• Willingly perform other reasonable tasks and duties as assigned by Management.

CORE COMPETENCIES / REQUIREMENTS:

• Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification.
• At least 6 months of Front of House experience preferred.
• Adept at being organized and able to multi-task.
• Must possess an energetic, positive attitude and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, team environment.
• Able to communicate with individuals from different backgrounds, using strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to learn the menu thoroughly and answer food related questions from guests.
• Able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time.
• Can perform high quality work while unsupervised.
• Able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food and other items.
• Follow health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
• Be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as dictated by business demands.
