Job Summary:
PPC, a Belden Brand, is currently seeking an Sr. Accountant to support aspects of daily accounting, related to cost accounting and manufacturing. The position reports directly to the Director of Financial Reporting & Business Development. This is a remote position based out of the East Syracuse office with an occasional presence onsite required.
You will make a difference in the following ways:
- Utilize SAP in order to maintain the global manufacturing costing system.
- Review departmental expenses on a periodic basis including the preparation and review of the monthly management reports as well as special/ad-hoc reporting projects.
- Coordinate the annual budgeting process to include establishing expense budgets and calculating burden rates for manufacturing and service/support (indirect production) departments along with setting material standards.
- Assist with month end closing by accurately preparing and posting journal entries in SAP in a timely manner.
- Utilize SAP to maintain master data; functionally setting up new companies or product lines; understanding underlying report data sources; understanding system and user risks and controls.
- Coordinate intercompany advice and reconciliations and prepare financial statements (worksheets in US GAAP format) for domestic and foreign companies.
What you bring:
- Education & Experience - Bachelor's degree in accounting with 3+ years of progressive finance experience
- Knowledge & Skills - SAP or other advanced ERP knowledge is required; Experience preparing journal entries required; a strong background in Microsoft Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, sumif's, etc.) and data analysis is required; and knowledge of US GAAP accounting and financial principles. Attention to detail and accuracy is critical.
