We are seeking a full-time Environmental Project Manager / Senior Biologist that wants to make a difference with their knowledge, organizational skills, and passion in a wide range of environmental projects, including disaster debris, housing, emergency response, superfund sites, orphaned well closure, NEPA, restoration, and monitoring projects.

This position will perform the following tasks:

  • Serve as a project manager and / or Senior Biologist.
  • Review data using spreadsheets and databases.
  • Perform tasks across multiple disciplines to bring about successful project completion.
  • Demonstrate full knowledge of each project's status and goals.
  • Respond to clients and customers.
  • Prepare proposals and cost estimates for various scopes of work.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The position will require around 50% field travel for site visits and environmental field investigations. This is a full-time position for an individual with a strong technical background in environmental / biological work who is interested in career growth and business development opportunities while managing and supporting a variety of public and private sector environmental projects.


Job Requirements:

This position requires 10+ years of related experience. The ideal candidate will also have / be:

  • Strong background/experience in biological work, including Section 7.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communications skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and previous experience with Section 7 and CA regulations is a must.
  • Previous private or public sector client management and business development success and project management experience a plus.

Preferred Experience includes:

  • 10+ years of Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrogeology, Engineering or related environmental consulting experience.
  • Direct experience should include overseeing programs that include as well as have performed environmental reviews related with Section 7 / Endangered Speciaies Act, have species specific knowledge related to CA.
  • Practical ability to analyze field and technical data, perform research, demonstrate technical knowledge, and solve problems.

In addition, this position requires the following:

  • You must be able drive on a regular basis. Passing a motor vehicle record background check and maintaining a valid driver’s license and good driving record is required.
  • Passing a background check is required.

Degree / Certifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Biology/Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrogeology, Engineering, or related from an accredited university.
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training preferred.
  • Completion of ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800 training preferred.

Work Environment:

Up to 50% travel for site visits and environmental field investigations. Mobilization point can be from home, a Tetra Tech office or a combination of both. you must also be able to:

  • Walk around project sites in all types of terrain and be physically able to carry up to 35 pounds of equipment.
  • Work in all weather conditions, both hot and cold.
  • May need to be able to wear a respirator.

The Salary Range for this position is $100,000 to $120,000.
