Senior Payroll Representative (Remote)

What you’ll be doing:

  • Ensure delivery of business results by meeting or exceeding all service level agreements
  • Assign Service Now tickets to Customer Service and Garnishments teams
  • Execute daily off-cycle close activities
  • Execute processes resulting in the successful completion of weekly on-cycle payroll processing
  • Review and load file feeds from various business partners to the PeopleSoft system for timely on and off-cycle processing
  • Serve as the primary resource for the PosPay and ACH transmission process to the bank
  • Manage the stop pay/reissue process using the current online banking system
  • Accurately input various reporting and special payment files to include relocation, expatriate, and SERP processing
  • Calculate overpayment amounts per the request of business partners in accordance with federal and state laws
  • Assist the Accounting Department in reconciling the Netpay and Money Network accounts
  • Initiate check print file creation
  • Research and resolve escalated payroll related inquiries
  • Assist with internal and external audit activities, including: auditing SOX controls, auditing and balancing on-cycle payroll input to ensure accuracy and completeness and conducting quality control audits for all off-cycle payments
  • Maintain payroll back-up to ensure compliance with audit requirements
  • Assist with support projects as assigned by department management
  • Archive payroll data
  • Act as backup for Sr. Specialist
  • Review new payroll laws and notify payroll management of changes
  • Communicate with HR Managers

  • Superior ability to interact courteously with customers and ensure communication is clear and direct
  • Understanding of basic accounting and payroll process
  • Ability to critically review and analyze payroll processes
  • Ability to identify and address concerns before they become problems, and to propose solutions to the concerns
  • Superior ability to recognize the appropriate style, level of detail, and message for various audiences
  • Capable of being entrusted with confidential information
  • Ability to manage the transition of information from Payroll Leadership to Payroll Representative
  • Ability to motivate and train Payroll Representatives
  • Confidence when in adversarial situations
  • Strong ability to resolve issues/problems
  • Ability to build productive working relationships with internal and external business partners
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to cooperate with team members and with Payroll Leadership
  • Ability to be flexible with position duties and scope of work


Qualifications :

What’s needed- Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 to 4 years of related payroll processing work experience
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications


  • Associate’s or Bachelor's Degree
  • CPP
