Modeling and Simulation Analyst

PMSA Group is currently searching for a qualified Senior Operations Research Analyst with an active Top Secret clearance, SCI and SAP/STO eligibility for a position located at MacDill AFB, FL supporting USCENTCOM J8 Modeling and Simulation analysis. The analyst will work as part of a team responsible for conducting campaign and combat operations analysis supporting senior level decision making at USCENTCOM. The position requires experience with DoD modeling and simulation programs / environments (i.e. Synthetic Theater Operations Research Model (STORM), or an equivalent simulation system). Prior USCENTCOM and active duty operational experience is preferred.

Responsibilities:

ORSA performing modeling and simulation analysis assist with modeling tasks requiring the design, development and adaptation of mathematical, statistical, econometric and other scientific methods and techniques for evaluating and reporting the probable effects of alternative courses of action; assist with researching, developing and maintaining the necessary models and simulations to support detailed analysis of many-on-many scenarios involving friendly and adversary systems; coordinate with DoD and the Intelligence Community to assist with developing organizational relationships and facilitate modeling development; provide administrative, network and security support as necessary to ensure availability of hardware and software for regular and emergent COA development; provide on-site SME support.

Major Functions:

• Demonstrated relevant experience with DoD modeling and simulation programs/ environments
• Demonstrated ability to participate in Intelligence Center and COCOM discussions, working groups, or exchanges regarding modeling and simulation and analysis studies
• Demonstrated experience developing Integrated Forces Analysis study plans detailing MOEs, assumptions, limitations, variables, run matrix and Model and Simulation architecture
• Demonstrated experience working Technical Problem Resolution and Software Tool Development Research to develop innovative ways to overcome technical challenges
• Demonstrated experience collaborating with DoD organizations and other government agencies on Integrated Forces Analysis for Mission Planning and CCMD projects
• Demonstrated relevant experience managing mission operations or major modeling and simulation studies including scenario creation, mission planning, asset operations, operator training, threat analysis and data transfers

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Must have a DoD Top Secret clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and SAP/STO eligibility
• Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Operations Research, Statistics, Computer Science, or similar field

Additional Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• At least one degree in Operations Research, Management Science, or related analytics field
• Command and general staff college graduate
• Advanced Military Studies graduate
• Broad knowledge of modeling and simulation
• Broad knowledge of commercial analysis and reporting tools
• Demonstrated ability to write technical papers and reports
• Demonstrated ability to talk, discuss, and present with clarity, precision, and conciseness
• Demonstrated ability to develop, adapt, and communicate requirements for statistically rigorous analysis to subject matter experts, and decision makers
• Demonstrated ability to listen to customer descriptions of requirements, work with team members to quickly formulate courses of action to satisfy customer requirements, and satisfy requirements in a timely manner
• At least two (2) years of experience conducting campaign and/or combat operations analysis
• Master’s Degree in a related technical field (e.g., engineering, statistics, physics)
