Job Requirements
The Senior Manager, Financial Reporting is a member of the CHQ Accounting team reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer. The role will be responsible for the preparation of lender-compliant 10-Q and 10-K equivalent quarterly and annual reporting, including researching and drafting disclosures in complex accounting areas. Together with the CHQ Accounting team, this role will play a key role in the monthly global closing and financial reporting cycle, as well as internal control design. This role will manage the accounting for complex transactions, including annual Goodwill impairment analyses, and will be involved in strategic and department-specific initiatives.
Job Description
  • Lead the preparation of all quarterly and annual lender financial reporting (10-Q and 10-K equivalent reports), utilizing the Workiva WebDesk reporting tool.
    • Serve as the accounting subject matter expert on reporting requirements; perform technical research and liase with external counsel to ensure compliance with lender and applicable SEC regulations in all of Alkegen’s external filings.
    • Review footnote schedules and analysis prepared by team prior to submission;
    • Preparation of more complex disclosures and footnote schedules
    • Partner with Assistant Controller and FP&A as needed to support other quarterly credit compliance reporting
  • Stay current on US GAAP technical accounting requirements impacting Alkegen including (not limited to) business combinations, impairment analysis, VIE analysis and consolidation, equity-based compensation, derivatives and hedging accounting, and accounting for employee benefit plans.
    • Perform advanced technical accounting research and analysis, and clearly document and communicate alternatives and conclusions.
    • Support new standard implementation as needed.
  • Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal stakeholder groups to understand the business and ensure timely and accurate exchange of information, as well as anticipate and mitigate potential risk through internal controls
    • Participate in annual “hard close” review at operating sites
  • Support annual audit process; provide support and requests as needed and ensure proper documentation of complex processes
  • Support overall controls structure through timely completion and review of key reporting and monitoring activities
  • Support the implementation of Onestream consolidation and reporting tool
  • Assist and participate on a variety of strategic initiatives, ad-hoc projects, and analysis
  • Support monthly close as needed through review and/or preparation of balance sheet account reconciliations and journal entries
Qualifications/Experience

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting required, Masters Degree and/or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 9 years of accounting experience, including a mix of corporate, operational, and public accounting preferred
  • Strong knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) required
  • Robust internal controls understanding
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal written and oral communication skills; ability to present financial information in a meaningful, understandable way
  • Experience with preparation of 10-K and 10-Q filings is a plus
  • Global mindset; Familiarity with global accounting principles (IFRS, PRC GAAP) is a plus
  • Demonstrated history of solving operational and accounting challenges
  • Good working knowledge of accounting software (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, Masterpiece, etc) is a plus
  • Excellent Microsoft Office product skills, especially Excel.
  • Detail oriented, ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization in a fast-paced setting
