Role Summary
Voices’ Senior Manager of Culture (SMC) will bring our core values to life. He or she will be an avid relationship-builder and strategic thinker, able to connect with others meaningfully and translate a vision into action. The SMC will foster a mission-driven culture across the Network through coaching, constant monitoring, and relationship-building. Reporting to the Chief Culture Officer (CCO). The SMC will work with teams across the Network including School-site Leaderships Teams (e.g. Principal, Business Manager, Deans of Culture or Parent Liaison, Student Services Manager and Instructional Coaches) to strengthen, support and maintain staff, student and parent/guardian culture.
Responsibilities:
Support CCO in setting vision and strategy for Network culture
- Leverage and promote Network traditions and rituals to promote Network values and norms.
- Ensure policies and best practices are being followed to build adult/ student/school culture (as found in the The School Culture Playbook, Volunteer Handbook, Crisis Protocol and Suspension policy, etc.).
- Build meaningful and authentic systems that reflect best practices.
- Train, coach and guide school-based Deans of Culture/Parent Liaison (with principal support) to promote values-aligned culture to foster Voices pillars of character education and behavior philosophy.
- Support CCO with staff recognition program and communication systems and recommend improvement and new strategies for developing and maintaining a values-aligned Network culture.
- Develop relationships with various staff teams across the Network to promote Culture priorities.
- Coach Deans of Culture/Parent Liaisons on developing, executing, measuring and tracking discipline and attendance trends and discipline
- Build the capacity of Deans and Parent Liaisons for planning and encouraging parent participation and partnership
Lead and support key onboarding and professional development activities
- Support with Dean of Culture and Parent Liaison onboarding and training.
- Support with teacher culture-building professional development.
- Celebrate Voices’ diverse community by bringing a lens on equity and inclusion to our culture, management, and talent practices.
- Be a role model for Voices values and norms.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Demonstrated passion for the mission, vision and values of Voices Academies with a deep commitment to improving the lives of students from low-income communities
- Minimum 3 years experience in people management or other relevant function
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Spanish
- Experience with behavior philosophies such as Multi Tiered Support Systems (MTSS) for TK through 8th grade students.
- Experience interacting with a broad range of stakeholders, expertly navigating team dynamics, across teams, levels, and lines of difference to motivate around common visions and goals.
- Excellent emotional intelligence and strong skills in establishing authentic, emotional connections.
- Outstanding project management skills with the ability to navigate the big picture and detailed analytical thinking.
- Ability to work well independently and within a team environment; working efficiently
- Works well in a high-pressure environment.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Google Suite

- Professionalism – See oneself as an ambassador of the school, presenting oneself both positively and professionally at all times and with all constituents
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of and experience working with low-income communities preferred
- Understanding of organizational design and the unique characteristics of public charter schools is a plus
Working Conditions:
- Regular requirement to stand, sit, walk, talk, hear, see, read, speak, reach, stretch with hands and arms, stoop, kneel and crouch
- Lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs
- Occasional evening and or weekend work
- Occasional travel
- Willingness to be trained as needed
Prior to Employment: Once an offer has been extended, a candidate must meet the following criteria to receive a final contract:
- First Aid/CPR and AED Certification
- Clear Criminal Background Check
- Valid TB Clearance
Key Compensation:
- Annual Salary Range: $82,000 -$94,000

- Position follows a 12 month work schedule
