Senior Maintenance Person
Job description
Ensures Library property is effectively maintained on a daily basis. Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department.
- Delivers library materials daily between branches and delivers items from vendors.
- Loads/unloads bins from vehicle at multiple locations. Uses ticketing system to maintain record of repairs.
- Performs mechanical, electrical, plumbing and carpentry repairs as required. (Changing light bulbs and ballasts are a requirement, etc.)
- Paints facilities.
- Assembles and moves furniture and equipment as needed.
- Maintains routine check on general conditions of buildings assigned.
- Picks-up trash in the parking lot of all branches on a daily basis.
- Keeps janitor’s supply closet filled. Sets up meeting rooms before library-sponsored programs and takes down after completion of programs.
- Troubleshoots and resets fire suppression system.
- Requisitions materials and makes emergency repair purchases for the library.
- Maintains and monitors all adjustments to HVAC energy management system.
- Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
- High School Diploma/GED; One year related job experience.
- Basic knowledge of air conditioning, electrical and plumbing repairs.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, good interpersonal skills, along with the ability to deal effectively with people.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Able to work evening and weekends.
