GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Senior Interior Designer position is primarily responsible for developing and leading all interior design components on projects during all phases beginning with conceptual through construction documentation. May supervised junior interior design staff/drafters.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and lead all interior design projects from conceptual through construction documentation; and participate in all phases of projects and their management as needed.
  • Demonstrate substantial knowledge of Architecture, building systems and construction.
  • Serve as point of contact for all clients, public agencies, consultants, sub-consultants, furniture dealers, product reps, and fabricators, to meet project objectives.
  • Determine the standard for project development.
  • Provide project management, leadership, and mentorship to teams and junior staff.
  • Coordinate with technical team and complete construction documents as required.
  • Develop project goals and plan layouts; prepare information regarding design, structure, specifications, (FFEs) materials, color, equipment, estimated costs and budgeting.
  • Develop space planning concepts and creation of program documents.
  • Advanced knowledge of Building Codes.
  • Current knowledge of design industry trends and advancing that knowledge firm wide.

REQUIRED SKILLS & DEMONSTRATED EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in Interior Architecture/Design from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
  • NCIDQ and LEED AP strongly preferred.
  • 9+ years of experience in a professional office setting, including broad experience in various project types and phases preferred, including hospitality, mix-use, office, residential, tower, and luxury.
  • Creative with skills in identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to brainstorm and formulate alternatives then present them to the team/client, etc.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong listening, oral/verbal and written communication, time management and organizational skills required.
  • Lead and mentor junior staff and contribute to office initiatives.
  • Candidates with existing Work Authorization only.
