Sr. HR Generalist, Saugerties, NY (On-site)
The Sr. HR Generalist is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management. Acts as a hands-on employee champion, change agent and serves as a consultant to management on human resource-related issues.
This position provides Human Resources leadership, guidance, and integral project support to the organization in areas related to regulatory compliance, employee engagement, full-cycle recruitment, new employee induction, employee relations, performance management, communications, and HRIS/payroll system integration.
Essential Functions:
- Ensure that a high-quality HR service is provided to meet business objectives.
- Encourage and actively work with leaders to develop an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes customer satisfaction, quality, cost-effectiveness, continuous improvement, and high performance.
- Develop and conduct new hire orientation programs and follow-up activities to ensure smooth induction to the company.
- Administer compensation programs including coordination of annual variable compensation and merit increase cycles.
- Leads and facilitates payroll integration. Act as backup for weekly submission of payroll adjustment and payroll submission files.
- Develop, revise, implement, and communicate HR policies and procedures throughout the organization.
- Participates in identifying, implementing, evaluating, and monitoring training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
- Manages the HRS (SAP-SuccessFactors system, including entry and maintenance of employee information and reporting while maintaining excellent data integrity and quality.
- Record and analyze turnover data, including conducting exit interviews, and recommend, and implement specific activities aimed at improving employee retention.
- Manage annual EEO1, Vets-100, and AAP Reporting.
- A key contributor to cyclical HR activities such as Performance Enablement and Employee Engagement Surveys.
- Ensure that the business complies with all relevant regulations, laws, and organizational policies and that all ER issues are proactively managed.
- Liaise regularly with HR Expertise teams (Compensation & Benefit and Talent, Learning & Development) as required to ensure that expertise activity can be effectively delivered and that local needs are considered.
- To be involved in wider HR projects either relevant to the country or more globally, as appropriate and as directed by the divisional HRVP(s) / VP HR.
Education/ Experience
- 5+ years of progressive experience in a Sr.HR Generalist Role or HR Business Partner, preferably in a manufacturing organization
- Experience working in an international, matrix organization that can be complex & intricate in both business and HR matters.
- PHR, GPHR, or SPHR Certification is preferred but not required.
Knowledge areas/Skills
- Advance Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with HRIS systems and internet/intranet (ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian Dayforce, and SuccessFactors a plus)
- Experience establishing rapport, building relationships, and managing employee conflict with diplomacy and tact.
- Ability to communicate and interact with all levels of employees
- Experience with performance management, coaching, and disciplinary process
- Experience with utilizing compensation programs
- A strong understanding of payroll, benefits and labor laws and compliance requirements, including immigration processes
- Experience and desire to manage recruitment, hiring, and has helped establish effective retention methods
- Experience in training & development, culture enhancement, and DE&I is required
- Experience with safety and wellness is a plus

- Some travel is needed between local sites and rare but possible overnight travel to other US locations in the future
