Here's a closer look at the Senior Financial Analyst role:

We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our fast-growing Software as a Service (SaaS) company. The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for driving financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting activities for our business. The ideal candidate will have experience in the SaaS industry and a strong understanding of subscription-based revenue models.

Responsibilities:

Financial Planning and Analysis

• Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts to support strategic decision-making and planning
• Conduct variance analysis and identify areas for improvement in financial performance
• Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and insights to management

Budgeting and Forecasting

• Lead the annual budgeting process and work with department heads to develop accurate revenue and expense forecasts
• Monitor actual results against budget and forecast and provide recommendations for corrective actions as necessary

Pricing and Monetization

• Analyze pricing models and provide recommendations for new pricing strategies that drive revenue growth
• Evaluate new business models and opportunities for revenue diversification

Revenue Recognition

• Ensure compliance with revenue recognition policies and procedures in accordance with GAAP and ASC 606 standards
• Work with cross-functional teams to optimize revenue recognition processes and systems

Business Strategy

• Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making and planning
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate new business opportunities, partnerships, and investments

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; MBA or CPA preferred
• 3 to 5+ years of progressive FP&A experience, preferrably with familiarity and experience with the SaaS industry
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
• Experience working with subscription-based revenue models and understanding of revenue recognition policies and procedures
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
• Proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis tools such as Excel and Tableau
