Job Summary:
Pine Pharmaceuticals is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our accounting team. This position will report directly to the Controller. You will assist with the preparation of financial statements, perform month-end closing tasks, assist in payroll and 401k administration, and oversee the A/R and A/P processes and personnel. Our ideal candidate has at least two years of professional accounting experience with a track record for providing accurate and efficient work.
Essential Functions:
Perform month-end closing tasks, including balance sheet reconciliations, journal entry preparation, accruals, fixed asset maintenance, etc.
- Assist with production of monthly financial statements.
- Monitor and investigate variances and inaccuracies in the general ledger.
- Responsible for regular reporting duties which require high-level Excel skills.
- Prepare monthly expense analysis.
- Prepare financial analysis as requested.
- Assist in payroll and 401k administration.
- Manage the accounts receivable and accounts payable processes and personnel.
- Provide back-up support for accounts receivable and accounts payable as needed to cover absence or assist in periods of high volume.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- MBA preferred
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required
- 2+ years of experience in public accounting required
- 2+ years of experience as an accountant in private industry preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Highly proficient in Excel and accounting software
- Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations
- Excellent communication skills
- A keen eye for detail
- Ability to work independently
