Job Description

This position performs complex accounting activities, ensures accuracy of accounting activities, and recommends changes in financial procedures.

  • Understand and analyze the activities performed with respect to accounting theory and company policy
  • Perform training duties
  • Serve as the supervisor for assigned technicians, analysts, and accountants
  • Prepare/review/approve manual journal entries that impact the financial statements
  • Prepare/review/approve account reconciliations
  • Interface with other groups inside and outside the organization including internal and external auditors
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Job Requirements

  • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study
  • Five (5) years of work-related experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner

Preferred Qualifications

  • Six (6) years of public or industry experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills
  • Discretion and evaluation capabilities
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of PC-based business applications
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of global enterprise resource planning (ERP) accounting applications such as SAP
  • Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, email, spreadsheets, and electronic presentations
