The Security Supervisor performs all Security Officer duties and oversees security team members assigned to a shift. This management position oversees daily security operations on the ground. The supervisor interacts personally with all security officers, working with leads to resolve disputes and ensure the current training status of all officers. The supervisor understands the roles, responsibilities, and challenges of the daily security operations intimately and advises the security manager on them
Essential Functions
- Planning, scheduling, organizing, and directing work.
- Training personnel and recommending applicants for training opportunities or corrective action.
- Develop effective relationships with all security department personnel through clear communication, addressing customer service inquiries in a timely and accurate fashion.
- Monitor the Security Team’s activities on the ground and train them to interact appropriately with visitors, vendors, and employees.
- Ensure that CCTV systems effectively monitor intended activity in compliance with relevant procedures and legislation.
- Instruct new officers about patrol routes and explain the proper procedures for handling personnel during an emergency and non-emergency situations.
- Demonstrate organizational and management skills by creating schedules, training documents, completing payroll, and training new security officers.
- Monitor certification of security staff, expiry dates, and training checklists for staff.
- Oversee intake of personal property and evidence during duty, monitor and secure inventory, authorize returns, transfers, or destruction of items as dictated by policy.
- Approve daily and incident reports.
- Assist with investigations.
Experience and Qualifications
- All Security Officer Skills and Qualifications (Level 3 Commisioned Security Officer)
- Advanced interpersonal skills and experience.
- Management experience.
- Investigative experience.
- Advanced language and technological skills.
- Capability to multitask.
- Capability to improve processes and functions of existing service model as demands on the system change.
- FEMA ICS certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- All Security Officer Skills and Qualifications (Level 3 Commisioned Security Officer)
- College credits, certification, or degree
- Advanced security certificates.
- Advanced team training experience.
- Advanced leadership experience.
- Law enforcement experience.
