    Job Summary: This position provides support to the Principal and her staff including matters of a confidential nature. Handles daily work pressures, requiring constant concentration to a volume of work which must be completed within a limited period of time.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • High school diploma
    • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures
    • Knowledge of MI-STAR program
    • Willingness and ability to learn additional computer software programs, as needed
    • Excellent customer service principles and practices
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
    • Demonstrate a high degree of initiative, plan and organize work independently
    • Time management and resource utilization skills
    • Dependable and possess good work ethics
    • Positive attitude
    • All else requested by Administrator

    Essential Functions:
    • Provide support to the Principal/Office Manager; staff, parents and other community and local education agencies.
    • Perform general office duties including answering phones, greeting the public, typing, filling, sorting and handling incoming and outgoing mail; intercept phone calls when possible
    • Greet all visitors/staff in Main Office
    • Unlock doors and assist guests and students when needed
    • MI-STAR data entry
    • Assemble/maintain student file folders
    • Request student records from previous schools
    • Enrollment letter to previous schools Superintendent
    • Follow up of student records received
    • Maintain special education records in compliance with state and federal guidelines as well as District policy(ies).
    • Set up and maintain MCIR roster; Compile/send IP report
    • Prior successful experience working in a school setting strongly preferred.
    • Exceptional written and communication skills
    • Demonstrated ability to work well with others from diverse backgrounds.
    • Must possess the ability to solve conflict; maintain confidentiality; listen to others without interrupting; remain calm under stressful situations; and contribute to building a positive team spirit.
    • Ability to exercise good judgement and work in an environment with frequent interruptions.
    • Independently answer routine questions and correspondence not requiring supervisor’s attention.
    • Work in partnership with Oakland County Children’s Village

    Per MESPA I Master Agreement, Classification II
    New Hires: Starting Salary $15.50 - $16.96 (Based on experience)
