Initium Therapeutics, a US subsidiary of Tiumbio based in South Korea, is a biotech company seeking novel antibody therapeutics for patients who are suffering from unaddressed diseases. Target Discovery and Project Management in R&D Planning and Operation
We are seeking a scientist who has the enthusiasm to develop efficient and effective therapeutics for patients with life-threatening or -devastating diseases.
As a scientist in R&D Planning and Operation, you will provide major contributions to target discovery programs that aim to develop antibody-based therapeutics to treat patients with rare diseases. This will be achieved by critically analyzing scientific data, understanding disease mechanisms, independently designing, and executing experiments to deliver key project deliverables while communicating priorities with cross-functional teams within Initium therapeutics and Tiumbio. Simultaneously, you will contribute in part to ongoing project management by communicating with project leaders and CROs to ensure projects are moving accurately, smoothly, and timely.
Essential Functions
· Identify therapeutic targets and develop proposals on novel antibody therapeutics with a strong understanding of disease biology through continuous evaluation of relevant literature.
· Identifies and solves problems, removes barriers to achieve goals, and finds opportunities for new discoveries while managing timeline.
· Contributes to research projects (In vitro models, target/pathway biology, antibody discovery, proof-of-concept) through hands-on independent work involving multiple experimental activities.
· Demonstrates a breadth of knowledge and skills to support the development, optimization, and management of research protocols to advance multiple drug discovery efforts.
· Defines project time lines, ensures projects remain on schedule through a strong working relationship and open communications with all departments and CROs.
· Maintains accurate study records including administrative and sample reconciliation activities.
· Demonstrates excellent communication skills with internal teams to ensure clarity of purpose and implementations.
· Demonstrates a high level of pro-activity towards solving complex issues within discipline and ability to anticipate future issues and risk mitigation.
· Supports other research groups by sharing new methodologies, learnings, knowledge, and skills.
Qualifications
· Ph.D. in biological sciences including, but not limited to, biochemistry, cellular or molecular biology and pathology with 0-5 years’ post-doctoral and/or industry relevant experience.
- Experience in disease biology of lysosomal storage diseases (LSDs) or blood disorders plus.
- Scientific training and experience in target discovery preferred.
- Experience in therapeutic antibody drug discovery and/or biologic drug development preferred.
· Strong critical reading, creative and analytical thinking, problem solving and organization skills to envision new and better treatment strategies.
· Extensive hands-on experience in biochemistry, molecular, cellular and/or immunological techniques.
· Excellent written and communication skills, ability to present scientific data.
- experience in writing research papers, fellowship and/or grant proposals preferred.
· Ability to lead, design, and execute on project initiatives and operates to a high standard.
· Project management knowledge, as well as strong organizational and time-management skills preferred.
· Strong drive and motivation to take initiative and to expand areas of expertise.
