Position Summary

The chemistry group seeks a computational scientist with a strong chemistry and structural biology background interested in applying machine learning and modeling to discover compounds as warheads for antibody-drug conjugates or small molecule/peptide drugs for various diseases, including cancer. You will be leading the efforts to establish internal computational platforms and apply structure-based drug design to drive lead generation and lead optimization. You will work closely with Medicinal Chemist, Biologists to drive our drug development program.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Main Task 1：To Establish Internal AI Platforms for Drug Discovery

Specific Responsibilities：

- AI-based binding free energy calculation;

- AI-based scaffold hopping and de novo drug design;

- AI-based toxicity prediction;

- AI-based DMPK prediction;

- AI-based synthetic analysis;

Main Task 2：To Establish Computational Platforms for Drug Discovery

Specific Responsibilities：

-Establish a virtual molecule library with chemical diversity for virtual screening;

- Structure-based and ligand-based virtual screening focusing on various oncology targets;

- Structure-activity relationship analysis for the computational support of chemical modification.

Main Task 3：Protein Structure Modeling

Specific Responsibilities：

- Peptide-protein/protein-protein docking for interaction analysis;

- Amino acid mutation for binding affinity calculation.

Qualifications

- Ph.D. in Computational Chemistry, Cheminformatics, Bioinformatics, Biochemistry, Biophysics, or related discipline;

- 0-3 years of post-doctoral work experience in computational drug design;

- Experience with computational software including Discovery Studio, MOE, Schrodinger, Gaussian;

- Knowledge of molecular dynamics simulations;

- Experience with SQL, Python, and Unix Shell scripting;

- Extensive knowledge of biology and genetic, proteomic, and molecular databases;

- Experience with collaborative software development through GitHub desirable;

- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills;

- Team player with a strong desire to achieve broad team goals;

Physical and Mental Requirements

• Sit or stand for extended periods of time at stationary workstation
• Regularly carry, raise, and lower objects of up to 25 Lbs
• Focus and attention to tasks and responsibilities
• Verbal communication, listening, understanding, responding, and speaking
