    Sheridan County School District 2 is looking for a positive, professional, and energetic School Nurse to join the Sheridan High School team for the 23/24 school year.

    STARTING SALARY: $36,000 - $41,000 (depending on education and experience) per year.

    BENEFITS: This position is eligible for 10 days of sick leave and 2 personal days. Time off matches SHS school breaks including Thanksgiving (3 days), Christmas (10days), Spring Break (5 days) and Summers off (June, July and August).

    QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold a current license to practice as a registered nurse in Wyoming.

    REPORTS TO: Building Principal

    JOB GOAL: To act under the general direction of the building principal. To perform those duties required by school nurses to meet specific requirements as listed in state statutes and local school district policy related to the overall health care of students in the school system and other duties as assigned.

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Schedule and perform routine screening procedures, follow-up, and referral.
    • Assist administrators in developing school health programs.
    • Assess students on a regular basis to detect health needs.
    • Maintain up-to-date cumulative health records on all students.
    • Administer first aid in accordance with established first aid procedures.
    • Implement Board policy on exclusion and readmission of students in connection with infectious and contagious diseases.
    • Participate in in-service training programs.
    • Assist school personnel in maintaining sanitary standards in schools.
    • Conduct school programs of immunization, health assessments, and sight and hearing tests as directed by NASN (National Association of School Nurses).
    • Report to parents, school personnel, physicians, clinics, and other agencies on student health matters.
    • Act as a liaison between home and school regarding health concerns, making home visits when necessary.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Lower body strength to stand and walk throughout the workday.
    • Upper body strength ability to lift students for positioning in wheelchairs, side lyers, or floor mats. (Back support provided if needed.)

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Employment relationship with the District is at will and of indefinite duration. Salary and fringe benefits to be set by the Board of Trustees.
