SUMMARY
The Maintenance Coordinator/Scheduler role ensures effective coordination and scheduling of shared Maintenance Services and Contract Services across the units, plant and site based on priorities set by the Operations Maintenance Coordinators. This role is also responsible for identifying short- and long-term shared services and contractor resource needs and implementing strategies to effectively execute prioritized work per Operations Maintenance Coordinators direction.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Support and drive accident prevention and environmental excellence.
- Ensure all activities are conducted in a safe and environmentally sound manner while adhering to all company policies and procedures.
- Acquire a clear understanding of jobs and work scopes through effective communication with operations, maintenance and shared service representatives.
- Ensure work scope documents for jobs determined to be contracted or performed by site shared services are clear, understood and include all necessary information.
- Attend and actively participate in weekly planning meeting by providing input and feedback.
- Assist with finalizing weekly schedule for site shared services and contractors and communicate weekly schedule by Noon Thursday to Operations and Maintenance personnel for posting in Control Rooms and Maintenance Shops.
- Utilize feedback to improve coordination and schedules across units, plant and site.
- Compare Plan to Actual results to make improvements in job planning
- Follow and support Work Management Process
- Follow and support Turnaround Work Process Planning and Execution
- Ensure requisitioning of Contractors executing routine Maintenance overload and/or supplemental work meets the needs of the plant and includes all necessary details
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- 5-7 years Operational and/or Maintenance experience or engineering qualification Diploma/Degree in the appropriate discipline desirable
- Previous experience in industrial plant operations with knowledge of maintenance, planning and scheduling requirements
- Experience with MS Office, Primavera (P6) and experience with SAP preferred or similar program
- Ability to communicate effectively with Production, Maintenance/Scheduling and Engineering department, managers, supervisors and crafts persons
- Proven self-starter with ability to lead change and drive continuous improvement.
- Successful candidates must satisfy background screening, including motor vehicle record screening, drug testing & pre-employment physical requirements before starting work.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
