The SAS Data Analyst has extensive experience with data manipulation, analytics, and information delivery. This role includes maintenance and enhancement of SAS processing to support actuarial, underwriting and operations as well as the support of the SAS environment.
Responsibilities:
- User maintenance of the SAS environment and support of the SAS user community
- Coordinate data consumption efforts along with IT to insure accuracy and consistency of data
- Understand, maintain, and improve SAS environment.
- Partner closely with underwriting, actuarial, technical operations and operations departments to ensure the integrity of the client’s data, accuracy of the
- earnings, and timeliness of reporting.
- Execute, maintain, and enhance SAS processes & repositories, both weekly and on-demand processes
- Serve as liaison to SAS Institute on all aspects of the SAS software, licensing, and cost matters.
- Review and advise on annual renewal of licensing for SAS software portfolio.
- Setup of new users and support all user questions/issues
- Review, analyze and modify SAS Projects, including coding, testing, debugging and documenting programs.
Required:
- 3+ years in SAS programming and data analysis
- Proficiency with SAS/BASE (Data step programming) and SAS/SQL
- SAS Enterprise Guide
- SAS/ACCESS Interface to ODBC
- SAS Macros
- Familiarity with relational database systems (comfortable with SQL)
- Strong skills in data extraction and analysis
- Ability to work independently
- Strong communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects with the ability to quickly adapt to and handle changing priorities
Preferred:
- Industry specific knowledge (warranty, service contract, credit insurance, specialty risk, insurance.)
- Experience in SAS administration (prefer Windows platforms)
- Exposure to Power BI, SharePoint, SalesForce
