What’s waiting for you:
We are looking to hire a Salesperson to join our growing internal Sales team! Our sales department is not only responsible for selling fresh produce, but also for being a main point of contact for all of our customers. Our internal sales team is responsible for opening new accounts within and outside of the Hunts Point Terminal Market. You will collaborate with our Operations teams, growers/shippers, buyers, b2b customers, as well as the end-consumer. In this highly visible role, the Salesperson will be able to work with and learn from the very best in the business, while also gaining a holistic understanding of our operation and the produce industry.

While You Are Here You Will:
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers
- Maximize sales with existing customers while also identifying and securing new business opportunities
- Fully understand the ins and outs of your customers to best service them
- Manage inventory by allocating in tight or over-supplied markets
- Proactively anticipate and manage customer needs and expectations
- Collaborate with Sales, Buying, Operations, and Trucking departments to confirm that orders are processed and delivered to meet customer expectations
- Effectively listen to customers’ needs to make recommendations and build rapport
- Make quick and concise judgement calls with confidence to handle situations
- Ability to handle multiple demands and work under time constraints
- Demonstrate pricing negotiation skills and ability to balance customer and company needs to drive profit margins
Who You Are:
- 5+ years of sales experience, knowledge of produce and/or retail and wholesale a plus!
- Previous produce category management a plus
- Proven track record of successful B2B sales
- An outgoing personality, detail oriented, and ability to think critically and outside of the norm
- Self-motivated to achieve sales goals and meet deadlines, both personally and collectively as a team
- Willingness to learn, be open to taking on new responsibilities

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
