Job Title: Sales Associate

Reports to: Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, Floor Manager

Status: Non-Exempt

Summary

The sales associate supports the smooth operation of the sales floor by being visible to customers and providing positive and friendly customer service. The sales associate maintains merchandise in the different departments and operates a cash register when needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Stock shelves, counters and/or tables
• Set up advertising displays or arrange merchandise to promote sales
• Stamp, mark or tag merchandise with assigned prices
• Obtain merchandise requested by customer
• Answer customer questions regarding location, price and use of merchandise
• Clean shelves, counters, tables, aisles and front facing displays
• Operate a cash register when needed
• Additional duties assigned by management

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required (or in progress)
• Excellent communication skills and problem solving abilities
• Ability to handle transactions accurately and responsibly
• Basic math and computer skills

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to constantly move about the sales floor to arrange and stock items
• Must be able to occasionally operate a cash register
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally with or without accommodation
