Ramey Roofing is a small family-owned and operated business serving customers in Los Angeles from Malibu and the San Fernando Valley down to Long Beach. Our company is looking for individuals to fill the position of Roofing Technician. The ideal candidate will possess a broad knowledge base in various kinds of roofing (composition shingles, torch-applied systems, tile, metal roofs, thermoplastic roofing, and roof coatings), though specialization in only one or two types of roofing is acceptable. Our technicians must work hard to exceed customer expectations by being on time, paying attention to detail, being courteous, and staying current on industry trends.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of technical roofing experience or equivalent training
• Work authorization
• Proficient in English
• Transportation to the job site (location varies by day)
• Bring your own tools for your specialty (ideal)

Responsibilities:

• Adhere to all OSHA regulations
• Arrive at the job prepared with tools and equipment, ready to begin roofing at 8 am
• Consistently meet or beat projected job timelines
• Take proper care to ensure every customer gets a quality roof
• Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a positive, can-do culture
• Take proper care of any tools or equipment loaned from the company

Job Activities:

• Install, repair, and maintain roofs using materials such as shingles, tar paper, and asphalt.
• Inspect roofs for damage and wear.
• Remove old roofing materials and debris.
• Measure and cut roofing material to fit the shape of the roof.
• Install flashing, gutters, and downspouts to ensure proper drainage.
• Climb ladders and work on steep slopes.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $29.00 - $40.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• On call
• Overtime
• Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Los Angeles, CA: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• torch/rolled roofing (Preferred)
• tile roofing (Preferred)
• composition shingle roofing (Preferred)
• TPO/PVC roofing (Preferred)
• standing seam metal roofing (Preferred)
• 5+ years of full-time roofing (Required)
