Who We Are: Point Quest Pediatrics focuses on providing meaningful and functional behavioral, mental health, and speech and language services to students ages 5 to 22 years of age. Pediatrics strives to equip each student with the skills and strategies needed to successfully execute their academic program in the least restrictive environment possible. Pediatrics partners with contracting school districts to assist them in serving their students who qualify for services and assessments as outlined in the student's IEP.


PURPOSE OF POSITION: Drivers are responsible for safely operating van-type company vehicle. The primary objective is providing safe, reliable and efficient transportation for students with behavioral issues to and from school and other school related activities and/or arrangements.

OVERTIME STATUS: Non- Exempt

SALARY RANGE: $17.00 - $23.00

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Provide direct/indirect supervision of students during transportation to and from school
  • During transport, the rider’s attention should be directed towards keeping students in their seats and, when required, buckled using the provided safety harnesses/belts
  • Maintain close communication with driver and supervisors regarding and reports all accidents and complete required reports
  • Assist staff with safe loading and unloading of students
  • Constantly monitor student’s well-being and behavior during the route
  • Ensure students arrive on time and are released to authorized individuals
  • Maintains discipline when students are on the bus.
  • Maintains awareness of the requirements of transporting wheel-chair bound students if necessary
  • In the event of an accident or emergency, assures the safe evacuation of children
  • Attends all scheduled staff meetings, team meetings, and training, as requested
  • Assures that no child is ever left unsupervised on a bus
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent and/or 2 – 5 years of experience working with students with learning and or social-emotional needs.
  • Experience working in a school or treatment setting for students with learning or social/emotional problems.
  • DOJ/FBI Live Scan Background & TB Clearance
  • Pro-Act, CPI, and/or CPR certification helpful
  • Working knowledge of standard business practices and procedures
  • Computer-literate; knowledge of standard company software applications, internet
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Problem-solving ability and proven accuracy with detailed information
  • Proficient written and verbal English language communication skills, including business writing and professional telephone manner
  • Reliability, dependability, and flexibility

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Occasional exposure to dust, pollen, and fumes
  • Requires prolonged sitting.
  • Requires physical exertion to manually move, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or persons.
  • Requires frequent stooping, kneeling, bending, turning, reaching, climbing, and balancing.
  • Requires frequent handling, standing, walking, hearing, talking, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, running, carrying, and lifting 50 or more lbs.
  • Must be able to see and hear within normal range with or without correction.
  • Must be willing to be at risk for exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues.
  • Must be able to function calmly in high-stress situations.
  • Must be able to cope effectively with disruptive passengers.
  • The noise intensity level is moderate to high
