Company: JFCUSA supports Jollibee®, Chowking®, Red Ribbon®, Smashburger®, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® and other restaurant brands in North America.

Experience: 8+ years of legal experience, with recent experience in a law firm or in-house legal setting preferred.

Compensation: Commensurate with experience.


Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

The Corporate Paralegal will report to the General Counsel for JFCUSA and will provide support and services for the operations of JFCUSA and its affiliated entities. The legal team provides advice to JFCUSA’s affiliates and business departments that support the system brands, including advice related to organization, finance, procurement, franchise sales, corporate restaurants, training, human resources and benefits, marketing, operations, mergers and acquisitions, and compliance. There is no “typical day” – every day is a different challenge.

The Corporate Paralegal position requires a "self-starter" possessing an attention to details, an adherence to confidentiality, and sound analytical and decision-making skills. Previous corporate paralegal experience preferred.

General duties include but are not limited to support of various areas of the business as outlined below:

  • Draft, file and manage various business entity documents for a multitude of corporations, limited liability companies and other entities for internal corporate governance and flings with state agencies
  • Assist with forming and dissolving legal entities; work closely with registered agent(s)
  • Maintain director and officer charts, affiliate list, minute books and corporate records
  • Manage and respond to requests for entity information and documents
  • Track and manage Service of Process to appropriate departments
  • Facilitate approval and tracking of legal invoices
  • Set-up new legal vendors and facilitate settlement payment requests
  • Maintain North American contract process and recordation
  • Support corporate commercial and estate transactions as needed
  • Maintain, create, and organize online files
  • Assist in other substantive legal areas as needed
  • Notary public experience
  • Communicate effectively with global legal team
  • Set individual annual goals and objectives
  • Support North American and global legal objectives through key results


Job Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Certification or associate degree in paralegal studies (bachelor’s degree is preferred), or a combination of education and/or experience equal to five years’ experience
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to follow directions and procedures
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Discretion in dealing with confidential information
  • Strength to work independently and prioritize tasks
